Young Voices Review January 2019

Young Voices Review

On Monday 21st January 2019, 57 Key Stage 2 pupils and 6 members of staff went to Resorts World Arena in Birmingham to perform in ‘Young Voices’.

After lunch we all met in Mrs De Gregorio’s room, split into groups and got on the coach. In no time at all, we arrived at the arena. We found our seats, which were very comfy, and had an excellent view of the stage.

We rehearsed all the songs we had been practising with David the Conductor, Craig the Musical Director and some celebs: Beau Dermott, Sharlene Hector and Tony Hadley. The rehearsal was long, but worth it. We had to sit down and stand up lots and dance, as well as sing.

At 5pm we had tea, before putting on our Young Voices t-shirts, then waited for our parents and the rest of the audience to arrive.

Finally, at 7pm the concert started. We sang and danced all night. The best bit was the Dance Off with the parents and the huge Mexican wave at the beginning and the Greatest Showman finale. Hugh Jackman even sent a message wishing us good luck! It was a great night and we would like to thank Mrs De Gregorio, Mrs Billingham, Mrs Tong, Mrs Buxton and Mr And Mr and Mrs Luckins for taking us.

We can’t wait to go next year, even though it was a really long and tiring day.
