School Council
chool Council and Pupil Voice at Withymoor
At Withymoor, we value our pupils’ ideas and opinions and encourage them to play an active part in shaping school life. Our School Council gives children the opportunity to represent their classmates, share suggestions and help make decisions across the school.
Councillors gather views through pupil surveys and class discussions, providing valuable pupil voice to inform improvements. From helping to choose playground markings to suggesting ways to enhance our school environment, they help ensure that children’s views are heard and considered.
Our Trust Council
Two council representatives from Years 5 and 6 also represent Withymoor on our Trust Council, joining pupils from the other schools in our Trust. The council meets each term with a shared focus, giving children opportunities to discuss important issues, exchange ideas and work together.
Last year, our representatives attended the final Trust Council meeting of the year with our CEO, Mrs Rebecca Cox. They shared their schools’ fundraising achievements and discussed the ‘big questions’ outlined by the Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza. Our pupils were excellent role models, contributing thoughtfully and listening respectfully to others. They returned with plenty of ideas from the other schools to inspire future projects at Withymoor.
